What is the Cambridge Center for Adult Education

The cambridge center for adult education is located in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. I’m familiar with the area, having spent a summer living in nearby Central Square during my youth. However I’m not familiar with the cambridge center for adult education, so I had to look it up online at http://www.ccae.org. The following is from their “About us” section:

Since 1938, The Cambridge Center has consistently offered the most diverse menu of courses to adults in Cambridge and surrounding areas.

We are a non-profit.
We are self-supporting, relying on tuition income and contributions.
We are here to give people the opportunity to explore their interests and nurture their talents and potential.

First incorporated as the Cambridge Social Union in April 1876, then in 1938, we officially became the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. In 1889 the Social Union purchased and moved into the House of William Brattle at 42 Brattle Street, which was built in 1727. In late 1972 the Cambridge Center acquired the Blacksmith House (the former Window Shop) property. Blacksmith House includes the Dexter Pratt House, built in 1811, where Longfellow observed the famous Village Blacksmith at work under the Spreading Chestnut Tree in 1839. Both houses are being preserved by the Center as living museums and are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

So since the cambridge center for adult education is a non-profit charity, it’s important to understand what their mission statement is. That is also located on their website at ccae.org:

The Cambridge Center’s goal is to provide high quality programs to the community we serve. While we are proud of the fact that most of our students report a high level of satisfaction with our courses, we recognize our responsibility to those whose class did not fulfill their legitimate expectations. If you feel that your class was not satisfactory, or you are not satisfied that the course delivered what was promised, the Center will return the full dollar value of your course fee to you in the form of a course credit voucher (materials fee not included; valid for three years from date of issue) under the following conditions: 1. That we receive a written request for the course voucher within one month of the completion of the course. 2. That you complete a Cambridge Center course evaluation. Note: Course materials will not be included in the voucher amount.
